MABELVALE — Helen Catherine Dew Peel,

-

88, of Mabelvale, passed peacefully from this world and entered the presence of the Lord on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Helen was born April 28, 1931 in Griffithville, Ark., to Tom and Ruby Dew (Bruce). Helen was happily married to Billy Peel for 60 years. Together they raised three daughters, and one son. She was known as Mama, Nana, and Taffy.

Helen was of the Methodist faith, and over the years attended and was dedicated to Henderson UMC, St. Andrew UMC, Parkview Christian, and Mabelvale UMC. She was a Christian woman who loved the Lord dearly. She enjoyed writing daily journals, which included praying for her family by name. She loved taking trips with her sisters. Her greatest joy was cooking for her family.

Words that come to mind when you mention Helen Peel: Nonjudgmental, accepting, unconditional love, opened heart and home, thought of others first, long prayers, sweetest person you would ever meet, always had a smile on her face.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy; son, Barry; four sisters, Leontine, Rachel, Laura, and Shirley; one brother, Bruce. She is survived by three daughters, Joni Romine (Mike), Lori Howell, and Teri Davis (Chuck); one step-daughter, Sheri Clark (Jerry); brother, Tom Dew (Francis); sister, Sammie Reynolds (Roy Barger); 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Henderson United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Please send flowers to Pinecrest Funeral Home in Alexander, Ark. Or, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the church of your choice. To sign the online guestbook go to www.pinecrestfh.com.
