86 of Little Rock peacefully passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020. He was born in Chatfield, Ark., later moving to West Memphis, Ark., where he grew into young adulthood. He enrolled at Arkansas AM&N College, Pine Bluff, Ark, where his studies were interrupte­d when he was drafted into the U.S. Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. After completing his tour of duty he returned to Arkansas AM&N where he graduated. He taught at Wonder High School in West Memphis prior to enrolling in Dental School at Howard University College of Dentistry, Washington, D.C. He interned at Georgetown University also in Washington. After a brief private practice he returned to Arkansas to work on the staff at the University of Arkansas Medical Science Center. He later worked for the Arkansas Department of Health, Jefferson Comprehens­ive Clinic and the Dental Clinic at College Station. He also had a private practice with a dental work history that spans four decades. He was active in his profession­al organizati­ons namely the Arkansas Medical, Dental and Pharmaceut­ical Associatio­n, The National Dental Associatio­n and The National Dental Associatio­n Foundation where he served as President in each group. He founded the Arkansas Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation and was a founding member of the Twenty Four Holers Golf Associatio­n. He was a member of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, where he was president and president of the regional organizati­on. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and a Connecting Link. He was a Deacon at Greater Archview Baptist Church. Then a present member of Union AME Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and son Ramon. He is survived by his wife of 57 years State Senator Dr. Irma Hunter Brown, a daughter Rosetta (Kevin) Brown Coleman, three granddaugh­ters Railen Mason, Kaivyn Coleman and Raga Brown, two great-grandsons Mason and Elijah and one great granddaugh­ter Raina and a host of other family and friends.

Celebratio­n of life services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020, Visitation 10 a.m., Celebratio­n 11 a.m., Union AME Church, 1825 S. Pulaski, Little Rock. In lieu of flowers the Family request that you give a charitable gift to the Arkansas Medical, Dental and Pharmaceut­ical Associatio­n Scholarshi­p Fund at P.O.
