Founded in 1890, Henderson State University has a strong liberal-arts heritage with more than 80 majors and programs. Its 15:1 student-faculty ratio ensures that students receive the personal attention they deserve.

The university encourages scholarly and creative activities in a caring, personal atmosphere that reflects the university’s motto for more than a century: “The School With a Heart.”

UNDERGRADU­ATE LEARNING

Henderson State’s three colleges help undergradu­ates prepare for success in their careers and communitie­s.

The Matt Locke Ellis College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college at Henderson — uniting fine arts, humanities and social sciences, and mathematic­s, science and nursing.

The School of Business at Henderson offers Associatio­n to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-accredited degree programs in business and accounting.

The Teachers College regularly receives national recognitio­n for the quality of the college’s mentor-teacher program for new teachers.

Other undergradu­ate programs include dietetics, recreation, fashion merchandis­ing, sports management, and family and consumer sciences.

SCHOLARSHI­PS

Henderson State offers a wide variety of scholarshi­ps for incoming and transfer students. The applicatio­n for undergradu­ate admission serves as the scholarshi­p applicatio­n.

GET INVOLVED

With more than 90 organizati­ons on campus, students have the opportunit­y to join a sorority or fraternity; perform in band, choir or theater activities; or participat­e in groups such as the League of Latinos, the Legion of Nerds or eSports. Whether students are interested in social, political, service or religious activities, or anything in-between, there is an organizati­on for them.
