BASTROP, La. — Sandra Lynn Bulloch Murry
died Friday, March 6, 2020 at her home in Bastrop, La. She was born February 21, 1949, in Pine Bluff, Ark., daughter of the late James Townsend and Lillian Viola Poole Bulloch. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1967. She began work as a clerk in the Jefferson County branch of the Arkansas State Revenue Office in 1969. After several years of service she became a district supervisor for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, and in 1982 she received an appointment as the agent in charge of the DFA’s Jefferson County Revenue Office in Pine Bluff. She was a member of Carr Memorial United Methodist Church.
Sandra married Tommy Murry on November 21, 1987 and moved with him to his home in Bastrop, La. After Tommy’s retirement from International Paper Company, they enjoyed several years in a new home they built north of Bastrop where there was acreage for a garden and plenty of room for their Brittany Spaniels and other pets to roam. They also were fortunate enough to enjoy traveling together, especially trips to beaches along the Gulf of Mexico.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was predeceased by a brother, Wayne D. Bulloch (Father Barnabas) of Mount Athos, Thessaloniki, Greece and a sister, Linda Lynch of Arkadelphia, Ark.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Tommy, are a sister, Beverly Farrell (James) of Hot Springs, Ark.; three step-sons: David Murry of West Monroe, La., Rev. Stephen Murry of Rocky Branch, La., Mark Murry of Shreveport, La., and a step-daughter Shannon Harris of Bentonville, Ark. Also surviving are a niece, Brooke Lynch Deaton of Arkadelphia, AR; two nephews, Bradley Neil Farrell of Rogers, Ark., and Matthew Townsend Farrell (Rev. Julia) of Shreveport, La.; a brother-in-law, Alfred B. Lynch, III of Arkadelphia, and four cousins: Janice Helvie Tiner of Conway, Ark. Brenda Helvie Costa (Philip) of Houston, Texas; James Thomas Deal of Westminster, Colo., and Carolyn Deal of Denver, Colo.
Those of us who survive give thanks to God for her life and the many ways she enriched ours with her generous and loving spirit.
