HOPE — Mrs. Barbara Ann Griffin Flowers Burke,

81, of Hope, formerly of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020, in Hope.

Mrs. Burke was born July 18, 1938, in Hope, to Herbert and Connie Clendenin Griffin. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands James Dale Flowers and Johnny Calvin Burke.

She is survived by her brother, Herbert W. Griffin, Jr.; daughters, Dana Flowers Cox (Bryan) and Julie Flowers Paddie; she is also survived by five grandchild­ren, Will Cox, Hunter Sears (Ashley), Zac Cox (Lindsy), Heather Sears Formby (Jonathan), and Nate Burke; three great-granddaugh­ters Ellie Ann Sears, Emerie Grace Formby, and Caroline James Cox.

Mrs. Burke was a 1957 graduate of Hope High School and attended Southern State College. She was a retired employee of the Arkansas DFA. Mrs. Burke was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hope and attended Diamondhea­d Community Church in Hot Springs. Mrs. Burke was a lifelong member of the Junior Auxiliary of Hope, 1964, Hempstead County Mother of the Year, an avid gardener, and a member of various other clubs and organizati­ons.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to caregivers Cheryl Biddle, Jeri Ann Harris, Lisa Helmick, Mackenzie Lafferty, Debbie Peters, and Hospice of Texarkana.

Memorials my be made to: Hospice of Texarkana or First United Methodist Church of Hope.

Visitation will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020, in the First United Methodist Church of Hope with Funeral Service beginning at 4 p.m. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Bro.
