American Legion Post 71 Closure
CABOT — Criswell-Robinson American Legion Post 71 of Cabot has closed temporarily and has canceled all functions until further notice. Post 71 is taking these precautions in light of the coronavirus situation.
Cabot Lions Club Knife Raffle 2020
CABOT — The Cabot Lions Club will raffle off a hand-crafted, custom knife and sheath by Lion Kimm Hunt and valued at approximately $250. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase exams and eyeglasses for schoolchildren and inneed adults; to assist applicants with hearing aids and vital glaucoma and cataract surgeries; to provide vision screenings; and to support the Cabot Lions Scholarship Fund. Purchase tickets from any Cabot Lions Club member for a donation of $5 each or $20 for five. The drawing will take place Oct. 10 at the Cabot Lions booth at Cabotfest.
Independence County Library Free Wi-Fi
BATESVILLE — The Independence County Library, 267 E. Main St., is offering free Wi-Fi to patrons while the library is closed to the public. The Wi-Fi is accessible from Main Street, near the front entrance to the library, and also near the back entrance on Water Street. The library will continue to offer curbside service during its closure. To place a hold on materials, call (870) 793-8814, ext. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

SEARCY — The Center on the Square has postponed its upcoming show, A Bad Year for Tomatoes, to May 14-24. The theater is also closed to all events through May 1.
