PINE BLUFF — George Leo Morrisey, Jr., DDS,

age 56, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, March 22, 2020. He was born May 13, 1963 in Pine Bluff, the son of the late George Morrisey, Sr. and Beverly Smithwick Morrisey.

Dr. Morrisey was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1981. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Hendrix College in 1985 and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Morrisey returned to Pine Bluff and opened his dental practice.

George was an active member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, where he served as a Deacon, as a mentor with the youth, ran the sound system often, and played the organ or piano when needed. He was also active in the Men’s Bible Study Fellowship, which meets at Watson Chapel Baptist Church.

Dr. Morrisey was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Winans Morrisey; a son, Patrick Morrisey of Hot Springs; daughter, Allison Morrisey of Little Rock; and two sisters, Jeannie Myhand and Rindy Jones, both of Pine Bluff.

A private graveside service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Bellwood Annex Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Thornton officiatin­g. Friends and family may watch the service webcast and sign the register on our website, www.RalphRobin­sonandSon.com. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson’s. Per CDC guidelines, a maximum of 10 people may be in the building at the same time. There will be a public memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 6501 S. Hazel Street, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603.
