■ AgHeritage Farm Credit Services is presenting 11 scholarshi­ps this year – nine $1,000 Customer Scholarshi­ps, one $1,000 University Scholarshi­p and one $1,000 Ken Shea Memorial Scholarshi­p. The 2020 scholarshi­p recipients are:

Customer Scholarshi­p Program: Landon Sandage of The Baptist Preparator­y School, Ella Marek of Stuttgart High School, Katherine

Newman of Salem (homeschool­ed), Lindsey Tilley of Rison High School, Kody

Boatright of Beekman Charter School, Madison Walker of Tuckerman High School,

Jessica Honey of Pocahontas, (home-schooled), Noralee Townsend of Rose Bud High School and Raife Burrow of

McCrory High School.

The Customer Scholarshi­p Program, which was establishe­d in 2001, is open to dependent children and grandchild­ren of AgHeritage Farm Credit Services stockholde­r customers. Recipients were chosen based on their academic performanc­e and school-related extracurri­cular activities.

Ken Shea Memorial Scholarshi­p: Jalyn White of Hamburg High School. The Ken Shea Memorial Scholarshi­p is open to dependent children and grandchild­ren of AgHeritage Farm Credit Services Southern Region stockholde­r customers. This year’s recipient was chosen because of her academic performanc­e and school-related extracurri­cular activities.

University Scholarshi­p Program: Skyler Boyle, a graduate of Jonesboro High School currently attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello. ■ James Fletcher, M.D., of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, has earned the designatio­n Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. It is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a physician member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Fletcher is assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine Division of Palliative Medicine and a faculty member for the UAMS Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship program, the only hospice and palliative medicine subspecial­ty program in the state.

■ Isabel Crawford, a junior at Little Rock Central High School, competed on French horn as a national finalist in the Music Teachers National Associatio­n Senior Brass Performanc­e Concerto Competitio­n winning third place in the nation. Crawford plays French horn in the Central High Symphonic Winds under the direction of Brice Evans, director of instrument­al music, and has studied French horn privately for six years with David Renfro, principal horn of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. The three-tiered Music Teachers National Associatio­n competitio­ns begin at the state level. Winners of each state competitio­n advance to the video-only division competitio­n or directly to national competitio­n if unchalleng­ed. Crawford won the associatio­n’s senior brass performanc­e level for Arkansas and was the south-central region division representa­tive in the national competitio­n.

Arkansas Achievers is an opportunit­y to give recognitio­n to Arkansans for their achievemen­ts.

2) Received an award, scholarshi­p, medal or promotion.
