PAT SCHNEBELEN LAYTON
was born on April 22, 1941 to Charles and Anne Schnebelen of North Little Rock. She was a proud Mount Saint Mary Academy Class of 1959 alumnae and it thrilled her beyond measure to have her granddaughters, Jessie ‘03 and Lachan ‘10 graduate from there, too. She married Bill Layton Jr., the love of her life, and they had three boys: Gary, Chris, and Jeff. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sherwood. Pat had a passion for travel. She took many memorable vacations with “her girls” and thoroughly enjoyed eating lunch in the Eiffel Tower. She was known for her annual Christmas party, where the entire family came together and celebrated with a champagne and cranberry juice cocktail. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was also known to love pulling the handle on the slot machine. Her laughter was contagious and her smile would light up the room. She was a proud leader of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce and dedicated many years to making them a success. She was a loyal friend to many, a fabulous Memaw, and a devoted sister and daughter. She will be greatly missed.
Her parents, Charles and Anne Schnebelen, her husband, Bill Layton, and Ed Schnebelen, her brother, precede her in death. She is survived by her brother Charles Schnebelen (Celena); sons Gary Layton, Chris Layton (Dossie), and Jeff Layton (Beth); and her grandkids, Jessie Mason (Brendan), Zachary Layton, Lachan Siebenmorgen (Drew), James Layton, Maddie Layton, Noah Layton, Hannah Layton, Jonathan Layton, Katie Layton, and five great-grandkids.
