HELENA-WEST HELENA — Robert Kinchen

was born on October 31, 1955 to Ezekiel Kinchen (deceased) and Essie Lee Kinchen (deceased), in Helena, Arkansas. He was the youngest child in a family of eight children. Robert accepted Christ at an early age.

He graduated from Central High School, in West Helena, Arkansas in 1973. Robert continued his college education at Harvard University, where he also attended and graduated from the Harvard School of Law.

Robert worked at law firms in Boston and Chicago, but his heart eventually brought him back to Helena to practice law as a solo practition­er. Robert worked diligently as the owner of Kinchen Law Firm, while at the same time serving as Senior Pastor of Mount Tabor Baptist Church.

Robert departed this life Thursday, May 7, 2020. He leaves to cherish three sisters, Laly B. (Lonzo) Hudson of Chicago, Illinois; John Ester Kinchen and Ruthie Baker, both of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers, Ezekiel Kinchen Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas and Joe Nathan (Corless) Kinchen of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Robert leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends, especially Linda Hall of Memphis, Tennessee. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Lean Kinchen and brother, Sammie Lee Kinchen.

Limited Attendance Graveside Service for Family & Close Friends will be Monday, May 11, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Jackson Memorial Garden with Pastor Andre Valley delivering the eulogy.
