MARY CHRISTINA CAFFERTY JAROS,

at age 79, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at home with John Jaros, her loving spouse of 55 years as of this July by her side. Born May 31, 1940, in Doohooma, Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Kate Cafferty; brothers, Padriac, Phil, Michael, Vincent, and Henry Cafferty; sister-in-law Ann Cafferty; nephews, Liam and Michael Cafferty.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, John Jaros; sons Michael (Becky), David (Missy), John (Erin); grandchild­ren, Patrick Jaros, Savanna Jaros, Katie Jaros, John David Jaros; bonus grandchild­ren, Anthony Harkins, Rachel Smith; and six bonus great-grandchild­ren; sisters, Ann Cafferty, Breege and brother-in-law Michael McDonnell; sister-in-law, Anne Cafferty; brother-in-law, Robert Jaros and Glen Taylor; sister-in-law, Susan Gibson and brother-in-law Donald Gibson; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Mary was the eldest daughter of eight children of Pat and Kate. She grew up in the beautiful, rural area of Ireland near the coast. Mary arrived in the States in 1958 in Buffalo, New York. She moved to Chicago and met a young man at a dance hall. Mary and John were married on July 3, 1965. Mary loved to dance and listen to Irish music. She had an amazing sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was a friend to many and loved by all.

Rosary/Funeral Mass will take place at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 6219 Baseline Rd., Little Rock, Ark. 72209 on Saturday, May 16, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 2 p.m. If planning on attending, please call or text David Jaros at 501-350-5040 because of Covid-19 concerns, the services will be limited to 100 in attendance and masks will be required.
