KENSETT — Douglas Leroy “Pete” James,

69, of Kensett, formally of Pangburn, passed away in his home May 12, 2020. He was born May 4, 1951, to the late Otis James and Gracie Whitacker James at Pangburn. Douglas married his wife, Wilma, October 21, 2003, at Pangburn giving them 16 years together in happiness.

Along with his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his two brothers, Thomas and Porter Roger James.

Left to honor his life is his wife, Wilma James of Kensett; son, Terry James (Teresa) of Searcy; two daughters, Melissa James of Searcy, and Maegan Patterson of Bald Knob; two stepsons, Scotty Andrews (Chasity) of West Point and Robert Jones (Misty) of Utah; grandchild­ren, Kiley Patterson, Braxton Talley, Kyra Patterson, Isaiah Patterson, Bentley James; step-grandchild­ren, Cody Andrews, Hunter Andrews, Gabe Jones, Mallory Jones, Logan Jones, and Bella Jones; great-grandchild­ren, Weston Webb and Bristal Garner; six sisters, Cora Bell James, Janetta Fuller, Louise Duncan, Martha Davis, Betty Hatfield (Silas), and Virginia Knapp (Alford); and five brothers, Jearl Dean James, Levi James (Pam), Steve James (Leah), Windell James, and Clark James (Toni); as well as a host of other family and friends.

Douglas will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and paw paw. He loved to fish, play with his grandkids, and watch the Razorbacks in his favorite chair. He was an avid fan… win or lose! He enjoyed his coffee and sharing his day with his wife. Douglas will be missed by all who knew him.

Graveside services, with interment of ashes, are 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Henderson Cemetery.
