SEARCY — Jessie Columbus “J.C.” Holleman

Age 83, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020. He was born on April 30, 1937 to H.E. “Jack” and Odell Holleman at Rose Bud, Ark. He was married to Shirley Cofer on December 8, 1956, and they shared 50 wonderful years together until her passing. J.C. retired as a special machinist from Eaton and spent his retirement fishing, gardening, and attending gospel singings. He loved being a dad and a PeePaw to his grandchild­ren, and especially his great-granddaugh­ter Clara, one of the bright lights of his life. He also enjoyed visiting with his coffee shop buddies and giving a helping hand to everyone in need. He was an elder of the Gum Springs Cumberland Presbyteri­an Church.

J.C. was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shirley; one sister, Jo Nell Clark and husband Boyce; one brother, Jackie Holleman; and one brother in law, Odis Cox.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Bell and husband Steve of Pangburn and Kimberly Holleman of Searcy; one grandson, Jason Bell (Megan), of Pangburn, and one granddaugh­ter, Amy Rodgers (Johnathan) of Pangburn; one great-granddaugh­ter, Clara Rodgers, and his soon to be second great-granddaugh­ter, Hazel Rodgers of Pangburn; one sister, Wanda Cox and one brother, Randell Holleman (Cathy), both of Searcy; many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearer­s will be Jason Bell, Johnathan Rodgers, Larry Clark, Bryan Holleman, Greg Holleman, Jeff Holleman. Honorary Pallbearer­s; Ronnie Selvidge, David Selvidge, and Randy Holleman.

Visitation will be Monday, May 18, 2020 at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Searcy McEuen at 10 a.m. with burial following at Gum Springs Cemetery.

All C.D.C. guidelines will be followed and adhered to during the visitation and funeral service.
