MYRNA SHAW,

-

79, of Heber Springs, passed away June 9, 2020. She was born on July 25, 1940 in Lake Village, AR, to the late James Harold and Hazel Goodfellow. Myrna is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Shaw; three children: Patrick Shaw of Washington, D.C., James Shaw (Michele), Angela Mahairi (Wafai); and was proud to be Grandma to Austin, Tariq, Reed, Ramy and Jasmine.

Myrna graduated from Little Rock Central High in 1958, then attended UALR. And in 1962, she married her childhood sweetheart, Tommy. She taught school at North Hills Exceptional School, then later served as Office Manager for Our Lady of Good Council Church. In retirement, Myrna and Tommy moved to Heber Springs where they coowned Shaw’s Mercantile, a terrific place for Myrna to fulfill her love of antiques and collectibles.

She was an active member of St. Albert’s Catholic Church, and integral to many of its activities, volunteering as Finance chairman, Fundraising chairman, and overseeing communications for her parish. Myrna enjoyed traveling, particularly to the beach or riding roller coasters with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all her friends, family and all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Albert’s Church, P.O. Box 1198, Heber Springs, Ark. 72543.
