While employed at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, Sue met her life-long husband of 56 years, Billy G. Carter. Sue lived her life to care and support her husband and two children, Will and Courtney.

Sue not only loved and served her family well but also her church family through the years in both First Baptist Church of Elaine and Helena, Arkansas. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and eagerly serving various hospitality committees for her church family.

Sue was a Charter Member of the P.E.O Chapter CO of Helena, a group leader of Explorers Bible Study, involved with Gideon Auxiliary for 35 years, and a life time member of Junior Auxiliary.
