CABOT — Feed the Veterans Pantry, 1212 S. Second St., will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Because of COVID-19 and for safety, customers are asked to stay in their cars, and food will be distribute­d. There will be no access to the building or the restrooms.

Steaks on the Square Cook-off

SEARCY — The Jesse Dylan James Foundation will host the Steaks on the Square Cook-off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Searcy. The first-place winner will receive $1,000; second place, $500; third place, $400; fourth place, $300; fifth place, $200; and sixth to 10th places, $100. ONGOING Genealogy Workshops

CABOT — The Cabot Public Library will host three weeks of online genealogy workshops from 2-3 p.m. Wednesdays and from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays, starting this week. Those interested in discussing genealogy and family history research can join the Zoom meeting online. CABOT — The Cabot Public Library will offer a take-home Mythologic­al

Series for Teens from 5-6 p.m. Mondays — including today and June 22 and 29 — at the library, 909 W. Main St. Take-home activities focused on mythologic­al creatures, including dragons, serpents, air creatures, hybrids and canines, will be available for teens ages 12 to 18. Animal Protection League Golf Tournament

FAIRFIELD BAY — The Fairfield Bay Animal Protection League Golf Tournament will take place June 27 at the Indian Hills Golf Resort. Registrati­on will begin at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The event will include raffle prizes-50/50 drawing, snacks and drinks, and special events for men and women. American Legion Golf Tournament

CABOT — Criswell-Robinson American Legion Post 71’s sixth annual Central Arkansas American Legion Golf Tournament will take place June 29 at the Rolling Hills Country Club, 271 Randy Beaver Drive, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The fee for the fourperson scramble is $75 per person or $300 per team. A meal will be provided after play. The holein-one winner will receive a new 2020 Ford vehicle. Fireworks Extravagan­za

HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Fireworks Extravagan­za at 9 p.m. July 4. Because of high lake levels and COVID-19 restrictio­ns, the fireworks will be launched from the Heber Springs Municipal Airport, not at Sandy Beach. Guests will not be allowed on the airport grounds. Informatio­n will be provided to help spectators find the best viewing areas in town. To view the fireworks from a boat, the best location is the body of water just west of the Dam Site Marina. Boat Races Postponeme­nt

HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce has postponed the World Championsh­ip Cardboard Boat Races, scheduled for July 25, until next summer. Reasons for the postponeme­nt include high lake levels and restrictio­ns required to comply with COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. The boat races will still have a Video Games theme in 2021. Lyon College Athletics Scots Spectacula­r

BATESVILLE — Lyon College Athletics and Lyon College alumni will host their second annual Lyon College Athletics Scots Spectacula­r from 6-10 p.m. July 25 at the Becknell Gymnasium. The event will include live and silent auctions, a buffet dinner and live music. Lyon College/Arkansas College student-athletes and alumni will share their stories of how their experience­s as Scots positively influenced their lives.
