EUNICE “KAREN” DAVIS,
92, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Sherwood Rehab & Nursing Home of pneumonia following complications from a fractured hip. Karen was born January 14,1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michele Guissippi and Karen Rasmussen Pilts Barbaso, and her husband, SMGT Robert Eugene Davis. She was survived by her children Michael (Karen) Davis, Dede Banyas, Daniel (Cheryl) Davis, Marc (Darlene) Davis, Dina (Jim) Stanford & Donald (Lauren) Davis, along with 27 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Karen served her country as a weather observer in the US Air Force following World War II and was a member of the ARMETS. She volunteered in numerous ways in her community including Respite Care and was a long-standing member of St. Stevens Episcopal Church. She loved her Saturday morning phone calls and playing bridge. Her love for elephants and Christmas Kringle will be carried on by her many grandchildren. She lived in Jacksonville for over 56 years and will be deeply missed by her family & friends, her bridge and Red Hat ladies, her book club and many others.
