of Little Rock, Ark., went home to Jesus on June 25, 2020 at the age of 84. She was born on April 11, 1936 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Hoyne. She took pride in her Chicago roots and her Irish heritage, loved Fannie May candy, and spent most of her life raising her seven children. She was a devout Catholic.

Joan was the loving mother to her children, Kathleen (Buddy) House of Little Rock, Frank (Dyann) Castro-Wehr of Nevada City, Calif., Deaconess Colleen (Kelly) Caldwell of Alexander, Maureen (William) Shaver of Marco Island, Fla., Michael (Florence) Wehr of Reno, Nev., Patrick (Michelle) Wehr of Frankfort, Ill., and Megan (Steven) Pruett of Bakersfiel­d, Calif.. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Frances (James) Dite of Downers Grove, Ill., and Peggy (Barry) Mink of Aspen, Colo., 14 grandchild­ren and 14 great-grandchild­ren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Bishop Francis I. Malone at Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock on Tuesday, June 30 at 10 a.m., preceded by the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the church’s columbariu­m. There will be a live-stream of her funeral which can be accessed from the Christ the King Church Little Rock YouTube page. Please wear a face mask and observe social distancing. Service is limited to 50 attendees.
