57, of Maumelle, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2020. Darrell was born May 13, 1963, in Brinkley, Ark., to Donald Eugene and Dorothy Imogene Ousley Vanderburg. Darrell lived an extraordin­ary life. At the age of 7, he was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. By the age of 13, Darrell was confined to a wheelchair. Although he was physically disabled and confined to a wheelchair, he always focused on his abilities. Darrell graduated 4th out of 457 in 1981 from Parkview High School. Those that knew him, loved him. Darrell loved people and especially loved visiting with neighbors and anyone that was walking around Lake Willastein. Darrell had the gift of gab. He also loved to share his testimony and his love for Jesus. He spent untold hours reading and studying his bible.

Darrell loved all his four legged friends, whether a dog or one of his cows. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Eugene Vanderburg

Darrell is survived by his mother, Dorothy Imogene Vanderburg of Maumelle; Sister Devonna Faye Vanderburg and husband James G. “Cully” Culpepper III of Maumelle.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Mary Jenkins, Darrell’s primary caregiver the past year, she will always be a part of the family.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at CHI St Vincent’s for Darrell’s care his last few days. Especially Joe, Julia and Amanda, the nurses in ICU that cared for him. Darrell would want any donations to go for the glory of God. Darrell was a member of Little Rock’s First Baptist Church when he was able to attend.

Visitation will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 14 with services following at 11 a.m., at Little Rock’s First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Riverwood Memorial Gardens at Maumelle. Arrangemen­ts by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home – Brinkley. You may sign the guestbook at www.bobnealand­sons.com.
