MAGGIE KENNEDY THOMAS MORRIS,

a long time Little Rock resident, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on July 16, 2020. She was born February 12, 1927, in Havana, Ark., and graduated from Havana High School in 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Mott and Artemus Kennedy; her daughter, Marianne Snipes; and her siblings, J.H. Kennedy, A.M. (Dump) Kennedy, and Geniece Terry.

Maggie is survived by four of her children: Diane Valentine (Jimmy) of Paris, Ark.; Claude Thomas (Ellen) of Lavaca, Ark.; Martha Klinger (Michael) of Williamsbu­rg, Va.; and John Thomas (Tammy) of Hensley, Ark. She has eleven grandchild­ren, seventeen great-grandchild­ren, and eight great-great-grandchild­ren.

Maggie was always very active in the Nazarene Church and was an avid shopper. She enjoyed cooking, holidays, and family gatherings. In her younger years she enjoyed volunteeri­ng in voter registrati­ons and the food bank. She worked for Bruno’s Little Italy for around twenty years and loved all her customers.

She was very fond of her nephews John and Lonnie Kennedy, and a special note of gratitude to John Kennedy for his numerous years of caring, attention, and love for our mother during her years of illness. Our thanks to Robinson Nursing Home for the care of our mother.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Owen Yandell officiatin­g. Visitation will be held Saturday, noon to 1 p.m., at the chapel prior to the service. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Havana.
