BENTON — Cora Ellen Cloud
Davis, 88 of Benton, has gone to meet her Lord and Savior on July 23, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock. She was born on November 18, 1931 in Sardis Community outside of Benton to the late Herbert Hocker and Beatrice “Damron” Cloud. Cora was a 1950 graduate of Bryant High School and went to work after graduation for Southwestern Bell Company where she was an operator. After 10 years of service, she became a mother of three children. As the children grew, she then returned to work for the Benton School District where she retired after 23 years.
Cora was a member of Holland Chapel Church. She was active in several clubs and organizations that included, Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star #231 in Benton. Others included Past Royal Matron Garland Court #21, Order of Amaranth, member of Social Order of the Beauceant, V.F. W. Aux. Benton Arkansas Post, Holland Chapel Seniors Choir and member of Gold Wing Road Riders.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Beatrice Cloud, daughter, Ramona Miller of Idaho, brothers, Herbert G. Cloud of Benton and Jackie A. Cloud of Sardis, sister, Nancy Louise Wilkerson of East End Community.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Donald D. Davis of Benton, sons, Kerry P. (Bonnie) Davis of Benton and Timothy F. (Teresa) Davis of Idaho, brothers, Robert F. (Polly) Cloud of Salem and Billy D. (Jan) Cloud of Little Rock; grandchildren, Stephanie McManus of Benton, Shannon Miller of Idaho, LeAnn Miller of Idaho, great-grandchildren, Rachel Cook, Riley Berg and Nolan
Berg, Charity Miller all of Idaho, Braydon Clayton and Valeri Clayton both of Benton, Carolyn Chicane and Clayton Chicane both of Idaho.
Pallbearers will be Royal Dixon, Grant Yazza, Brayden Clayton, Mike Culp, Justin McManus and Ernie Flowers.
Church services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 11 a.m., on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Holland Chapel Church with Bro. Carl Richey, Bro. Roger Taylor and Bro. Keaton Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Smith New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. on Monday at Holland Chapel Church before services.
