RAYMOND HENRY O’DELL,

94, of Roland, passed away July 19, 2020. He was born December 21, 1925, in Biscoe, Ark., to the late Thomas Alexander and Ethel Dosha (Johnson) O’Dell. As a young man, Mr. O’Dell was a plumber by trade and went by the nicknames of “Skeeter” and “Muscles”. His defining career for over sixty years was as a cabinet maker that included framing and trim work. Mr. O’Dell had lived in the Roland community since 1986, where he loved raising chickens and selling the eggs. He was a member of Natural Steps Baptist Church. Mr. O’Dell’s grandchildren gave him the nickname of “Shorty”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reba, and siblings, Robert Mashburn, William Mashburn, and Gracie Pierce.

Survivors include his three children, Raymond (April) O’Dell, Jr. of Ramona, Calif., Ronald O’Dell of Berryville, Arkansas., and Ramona Lynn McIntire of Roland, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Jonathan (Rosalyn) Healer, Brandy Stalcup, Patrick (Tasia) McIntire, Candi Compton, Rhonda Smithee, Seth Caleb (Brandy) McIntire, Jordan McIntire and Kierstyn O’Dell; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Natural Steps Baptist Church in Roland, Ark., with Brother Mark Hobson officiating. Interment will follow at Kennerly Cemetery in Monnie Springs, Ark., with Chip Harper officiating. Visitation will be from 10–11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
