BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Janetta Bell Gibbins Jones,

85, was born January 2, 1935, in Coy, Ark., to the late George and Carrie Gibbins. She was one of 14 children. She passed away at home with her daughter, Susan Myers (Jones), son-inlaw, Bill Myers and grandson Christophe­r Myers in Birmingham, Ala. She was a Christian, Mom, Grandmothe­r, Wife, Sister, Aunt to many nieces and nephews, and Friend to many. She lived in Little Rock, Ark., most of her adult life. She met her husband, Jerome Louis Jones, in Little Rock, and they were married December 27, 1958. Her husband passed away August 24, 2004, at the age of 84. She was step-mother to Ron Jones (Trish), Bryant, Ark., and Stephen Jones, Cabot, Ark. Grandmothe­r to two wonderful and beautiful grand daughters, Jennifer Barnhouse, Bryant, Ark., and Rhonda Rouse, Fayettevil­le, Ark.

She was a member of Geyer Springs Church of Christ in Little Rock Arkansas for almost 60 years. She was also a member of Shades Mountain Church of Christ in Birmingham Alabama where she lived near her daughter and family the last 3 years of her life. Both of her church families in Birmingham and Little Rock were a part of her family as well. We were blessed to have so many people who helped care for Mom in her final days including Visiting Angels, Tammy and Lisa, and Encompass Hospice, Zoran and Jessica.

A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas. There will be no gathering planned due to COVID-19 regulation­s and restrictio­ns.
