Hale Sr., 80, of Searcy, passed from this life Monday, July 20, 2020. He was born December 25, 1939, in Olyphant, Ark.

Norman devoted his life to helping others. Before becoming an educator, he served in the Army National Guard. He taught vocational agricultur­e and carpentry before becoming an elementary principal. He served as the vice-president of finance for Northeaste­rn Christian Junior College. He also spent many years as a preacher both in Pennsylvan­ia and Arkansas. He was a retired EMT from Bald Knob Ambulance Service.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Hale of Searcy; children, Gerri Lilly (David) of Garland, Texas, Norman Jr. (Tonia) of Searcy, and Judy Hall (David) of Searcy; six grandchild­ren, and four great-grandchild­ren; sister Arlene Everett of Diaz.

He was preceded in death by parents, Marshall and Ruth Hale; brother, MT Hale; sister, Joyce Hale; brother, Chester Hale.

There will be a drop-in visitation on Friday, July 24, 2020, from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m., at College Church of Christ in Searcy, with funeral service following at 1 p.m. Interment is at Coffeevill­e Cemetery in Bradford.
