Anniversaries

Carolyn and Earnest “Sonny” Dodds of Little Rock will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple were married July 31, 1960. She is the former Carolyn Carpenter and is retired from publishing, printing and advertising. He is a retired brick mason. Lois and Don L. Shores of Cave Springs will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple were married July 28, 1950. She is the former Lois Wynne. They are the parents of Don Shores Jr. of Malibu, Calif.; Brenda Shores of Memphis; Cherryl Bassing of Lake City; and Gary Shores of Cave Springs. The couple have 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Kiki and George Nicholas Plastiras of Little Rock will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple were married July 31, 1960. She is the former Kiki Chronis. He is a retired tax attorney. They are the parents of Anne Kerr of Tampa, Fla.; Estelle Racusin of Houston; and Nick Plastiras of Little Rock. They have four grandchildren.

Olene and Hoover Gilbert of Mountain View will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on July 28. She taught high school history, math, business classes and was a school librarian at Timbo, Greenbrier, Sylvan Hills, Mountain View and Rural Special (Fox). He started his high school basketball coaching career at Sylvan Hills and later coached at Timbo and Rural Special in Stone County.

Tommye and Tom Brock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. The couple were married July 25, 1970. She is the former Tommye Hasley, and he is retired from Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. They are the parents of Jason Brock and Tara Dennie, both of Little Rock. They have six grandchildren.
