was born on September 13, 1980, to Neta (Word) Haggard and Mickel Jay Haggard in Little Rock, Ark. He died on August 1, 2020, at UAMS in Little Rock, at the age of 39. He is survived by his parents, Mickel Jay Haggard (Andrea) of Aurora, Colo., and Neta (Word) Haggard of North Little Rock, Ark. He is also survived by his half-sisters, Annamarie Haggard of Colorado Springs, Colo., Breanna Haggard of Akron, Colo.; niece, Kaybree Jay Florian of Akron, Colo.; aunts, Jamie (Harold) Shoemaker of North Little Rock, Ark., and Donna Haggard of Sherwood, Arka.

He was predecease­d by his grandparen­ts, Norman B. and Katherine Word of North Little Rock, and N. J. and Mary Haggard of Sherwood; uncles, Greg Haggard and Phillip Haggard of Sherwood.

Mickel was a graduate of Sylvan Hills High School in Sherwood and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayettevil­le. Mickel was a member of New Life Church at 610 Main Street in Little Rock. Mickel loved God and leading others to Christ. Mickel was an avid outdoorsma­n. He enjoyed climbing Pinnacle Mountain on a regular basis and hiking any trail he could find in Arkansas. He was a fantastic cook and always wanted to be a chef. Mickel enjoyed photograph­y and had some photos printed in the Washington Post. He loved volunteeri­ng and helping others. He was one of the biggest Razorback fans in the state.
