FIVE PLAYERS TO WATCH

-

Landon Rogers, Little Rock Parkview, QB, Sr.

Little Rock Parkview Coach Brad Bolding is glad to have Rogers back for a third and final season.

He started the past two seasons for the Patriots and has turned himself into one of the state’s best quarterbacks. In 2019, Rogers passed for 1,624 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Up next for Rogers is the University of Arkansas.

Erin Outley, Little Rock Parkview, TE, Sr.

There are not too many players who can call themselves four-year starters, but Outley can. He has shined for the Patriots since his freshman season.

Last season, Outley finished with 41 receptions for 651 yards and 8 touchdowns. Outley also has orally committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Garrett Brown, Benton, QB, Sr.

Brown broke through last season to become Benton’s starting quarterback, passing for 3,093 yards with 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Benton reached the Class 6A state championship game for the second consecutive season thanks in part because of the play of Brown.

His play will be a major factor in whether the Panthers can return to the state title game for a third consecutive season.

Jordan Hanna, Greenwood, LB, Sr.

Hanna was Greenwood’s most versatile player on defense a year ago.

He recorded 115 tackles and 9 sacks for the Bulldogs’ 10-win team.

The Bulldogs moved Hanna to linebacker this season, but he’ll still line up at his former position of defensive end in different packages.

Hanna, whose brother Morgan is currently with the Arkansas Razorbacks, has received a scholarship offer from Southern Miss.

Chase Jessup, Lake Hamilton, OL, Jr.

Jessup is the only underclassman on this list, but he played at a veteran level in 2019 for Lake Hamilton.

The Wolves left tackle was part of an offensive line that helped Owen Miller rush for 1,892 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Jessup has received scholarship offers from Kansas and Vanderbilt. With his junior season ahead, expect Jessup to garner more attention from FBS schools.
