ALTA BERNICE NELSON,

-

known to all as “Bebe”, 90, passed from this life to her heavenly home on August 22, 2020. She was born to Grover Jackson and Virginia Smith Alldredge on November 3, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama.

She grew up in Homewood, Alabama and graduated from Shades Cahaba High School in 1948. Prior to moving to Little Rock in 1966, she lived in several states throughout the South - she was a true Southern lady.

Prior to her retirement, Bebe worked for many years at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield, where she made many lifelong friendships. In retirement, she enjoyed many happy years in the company of her loved ones. Bebe will be remembered as a loving, nurturing, devoted mother, and doting grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her life and she had a strong faith in the Lord. She had a tender heart and love for animals, including beloved pets, Princess, Dixie and Boots. She was an ardent and enthusiastic supporter of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team.

Bebe is survived by her daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Nelson Stillians, and sons, Michael Barnard Nelson, David Belton Alldredge, and Steven Glenn Nelson; grandchildren, Shelby Sterling, Lauren Stillians, and Sierra Parke; five great-grandchildren; nephew, Jack Knight; almost-son, Robert Chi Lee; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her older sister, Hazel Knight.

She will be missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her. Her children want to express their sincere thanks to our dear mother for the wonderful life she gave to us. We will miss her more than words can say.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends, but due to current restrictions, the date is to be determined. The family will reach out once the details have been made.
