of Conway, Ark., died Thursday, August 20, 2020 in Creve Coeur, Mo. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas. Arrangemen­ts are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon, Texas.

Cleta was born September 3, 1941, in Memphis, TX, to James Marvin “Doc” and Eva Leon Nivens Kennedy. Cleta was a hardworkin­g profession­al woman who dedicated over 34 years of her career to Franklin Electric, formerly known as Jacuzzi Brothers, in Little Rock, Ark. Cleta will best be remembered for her love of playing and coaching basketball, instilling values and fun into the Girl Scouts that she led, her fun-loving ways and her beautiful smile. She loved the holidays, especially Halloween. Cleta sewed costumes for herself, her children and grandchild­ren and loved to hand out candy at the hospital to all of the staff and patients. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Cleta was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Perry Glyn Kennedy, Cecil Hoyce Kennedy, and Marvin Carrol Kennedy. Survivors include her two daughters, Taunia Rogers and husband, Tom, of Defiance, Mo., and Michelle Simon and husband, Gary, of Conway, Ark.; grandson, Ryan Turner; two granddaugh­ters, Samantha Stadter, and husband Matt Carey; and Kristian McMo-

ran, and husband Ethan; two great-granddaugh­ters, Claire Turner, and Hazel McMoran; and her sister-in-law, Ann Kennedy. Family request memorials to be made to the American Heart Associatio­n or the American Cancer Associatio­n.
