DR. MIGUEL AUGUSTINE CASILLAS, 81,

of Little Rock, passed away on August 31, 2020, in his home.

He was born to parents Trinidad and Josefa Casillas, on November 3rd, 1938, in El Paso, Texas. Miguel earned his Masters in Psychology from the University of Texas and his M.D. from the National Autonomous University of Mexico City. Dr. Casillas served as Acting Medical Director of the Psychiatri­c Unit at Yuma Regional Medical Center in Arizona. He also accepted the position of Medical Examiner for Yuma County and found time to volunteer as a Deputy Sheriff after completing the Law Enforcemen­t Academy. Following his residency training, Miguel practiced general and forensic psychiatry in Chicago, Illinois, and acted as Medical Director of the Psychiatri­c Institutes of American in their hospital inpatient alcohol and drug addiction treatment units in Colorado and Arkansas.

Miguel is survived by his son, Michael; son, Daniel & daughterin-law Megan; and daughter Jackie; as well as his grandchild­ren, Julissa and Alexandra.

Miguel was known for his larger than life personalit­y and boundless ambition. He served in the U.S. Army with distinctio­n, and loved his country dearly. His unconditio­nal love, generosity and love of Gods word will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Roller Chenal Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside, Calif. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 50 people at one time.
