CALLISBURG, Texas — On Saturday, September 19, 2020, Valerie Elaine Gorman,

loving daughter, mother, sister, fiancee, passed away unexpectedly at 34 years old. She was born on September 6, 1986, in Denver, Colo., to Melba Gorman of Sherwood and Dennis Gorman of the Philippines. Valerie “Val” grew up in Sherwood Ark., but recently lived in Callisburg, Texas, establishing her life with Ron Searcy and her beloved dogs, Gemma and Bella.

If you knew Val, you loved the way she always had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh that would have the entire room laughing. She loved animals and being around people and was always wanting to give to others. Her larger-than-life attitude, along with her witty, loudmouth would have you on your toes. She was resilient, selfless, and loved unconditionally. Her biggest love was her son, Colby.

She is survived by her mother, Melba Gorman of Sherwood, Ark.; her father, Dennis Gorman and stepmother, Liza Gorman, of the Philippines; son, Colby Dean; brother, Bryce Gorman; finance’ Ron Searcy; niece, Mya Gorman; grandmother, Pauline Lind; grandfather, William Fippen. She also had many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her beloved Big Sister of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, Kristin Trulock, that she met when she was 7 years old. She is preceded in her death by her dear brother, Zane Gorman; grandfather, Teddy Lind; grandmother, Frances Fippen, and her Aunt Beverly.

A memorial will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020, in Denison, Texas, at American Funeral Services, 4312 W. Crawford St. Denison, Texas. Visitation at 10 a.m. and memorial service at 11 a.m. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020, in Little Rock at Maumelle Park, 9009 Pinnacle Valley Rd., Little Rock, Ark. 72223, Pavilion #5, at noon.
