FS SOUTHSIDE 26, ROGERS HERITAGE 7

FORT SMITH — David Sorg threw three touchdown passes and reserve running back Gage Jones added another as Fort Smith Southside (2-5, 1-2 7A-West) defeated Rogers Heritage (16, 0-4) at Rowland Stadium.

Southside won despite five turnovers, all lost fumbles.

Jones entered the game late in the first quarter and rushed for 117 yards on 23 carries. He helped put the game away with a 2-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter.

ROGERS 44, SPRINGDALE 34

ROGERS — Christian Francisco threw five touchdown passes for Rogers (4-1, 1-1 7A-West), which defeated Springdale (2-5, 1-3).

It was the Mounties’ first 7A-West victory of the season.

Springdale has lost three consecutiv­e games.

CLASS 6A GREENWOOD 48, RUSSELLVIL­LE 10

GREENWOOD — L.D. Richmond accounted for seven touchdowns to help Greenwood (7-0, 3-0 6A-West) roll over Russellvil­le (1-6, 0-4).

Richmond completed 15 of 19 passes for 275 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for 2 more for the Bulldogs.

Greenwood led 21-10 at the end of the first quarter as Richmond threw three of his seven scoring passes in the first 12 minutes.

The Bulldogs stretched their lead to 41-10 by halftime.

EL DORADO 45, MARION 34

MARION — The Wildcats (2-3, 2-0 6A-East) won their second conference game of the season over Marion (1-6, 1-3), with quarterbac­k Eli Shepherd throwing nearly 300 yards.

Shepherd completed 15 of 25 passes 297 yards and 3 touchdowns. Deandra Burns also had 3 touchdowns with his 8 receptions for 120 total yards.

Senior Branden Moore also had a rushing touchdown and Jyrin Steward returned a fumble for a touchdown.

LAKE HAMILTON 42, SILOAM SPRINGS 19

PEARCY — Lake Hamilton (6-0, 3-0 6A-West) used a strong running game to overwhelm Siloam Springs (3-4, 1-3).

The Wolves, who led 28-6 at halftime, totaled 440 yards of offense, all on the ground. Tevin Woodley had 14 touches for 191 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown, and Owen Miller had 14 touches for 171 yards and 3 scores. Kendrick Martin finished with five carries for 81 yards.

The Panthers finished with 427 yards of offense, including 234 passing yards. Hunter Talley completed 12 of 18 passes for 2 touchdowns. Christian Ledeker had 4 catches for 112 yards and 2 scores. Talley led the ground assault as well, rushing 15 times for 95 yards with Jeff Phizema adding 73 yards on 19 carries.

LR PARKVIEW 28, VAN BUREN 20

VAN BUREN — Despite a finger injury, quarterbac­k Landon Rogers finished with 111 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on 13 carries to help Little Rock Parkview (4-1, 3-1 6A-West) get past Van Buren (3-4, 1-3).

Rogers hurt a finger, limiting him to just three passing attempts in the game. But he along with his running backs were enough to pull away from the Pointers.

James Jointer led the way on the ground for Parkview. He finished with 28 carries for 174 yards and a touchdown. Willie Eackles chipped in 58 yards on eight carries with a score.

Gary Phillips completed 19 of 38 passes for 282 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead Van Buren. His main targets were Jaiden Henry (six catches for 50 yards and a touchdown) and Chi Henry (two catches for 102 yards and a touchdown).

CLASS 5A BROOKLAND 12, VALLEY VIEW 7

BROOKLAND — Three intercepti­ons helped Brookland (2-5, 1-3 5A-East) stymie Valley View’s offense (4-3, 2-2) in a low-scoring victory.

Brookland’s Ronaldo Garcia kicked a 36-yard field goal to break the defensive stalemate with about 6 minutes left in the first half.

Valley View scored after halftime to take a 7-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter before Brookland’s Joseph Wright broke loose for a 23-yard touchdown run to put the Bearcats back on top 9-7.

Garcia capped the scoring with a 43yard field goal.

CAMDEN FAIRVIEW 57, DE QUEEN 0

CAMDEN — The Cardinals (4-4, 2-2 5A-South) scored numerous ways in a blowout victory over De Queen (0-7, 0-3).

Seven different players reached the end zone as Camden Fairview’s offense rolled. Junior running back Ja’coriae Brown was the only player with multiple touchdowns, running for scores in the first and second quarters.

In the second half, Trey Frazier scored two safeties on defense.

The Cardinals also got a 55-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

FARMINGTON 29, CLARKSVILL­E 21

FARMINGTON — Caden Elsik accounted for four touchdowns as Farmington (3-2, 1-2 5A-West) earned a victory over Clarksvill­e (2-3, 1-3).

Elsik finished with 212 yards of total offense, including 144 rushing yards on 16 carries and 3 touchdowns. He also caught a 67-yard scoring pass for the Cardinals. The junior also scored on a two-point conversion run.

Farmington broke a 14-14 halftime tie with Elsik’s 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. His 8-yard scoring run made it 29-14 in the fourth quarter.

GREENE COUNTY TECH 28, NETTLETON 21

PARAGOULD — David Williams paved the way for the Eagles (5-2, 3-1 5A-East), as they held on to beat the Raiders (3-4, 2-2).

Williams scored his first touchdown in the first quarter to tie the score at 7-7.

The Eagles drove 99 yards near the end of the second quarter and cashed in on a 2-yard touchdown run by quarterbac­k Christian Barber.

Williams scored again on a 28-yard run in the third quarter.

HOT SPRINGS LAKESIDE 42, HOPE 10

HOPE — The Rams (4-3, 2-1 5A-South) jumped out to a 35-3 halftime lead en route to a decisive road victory over Hope (1-4, 1-2). WYNNE 49, BATESVILLE 20

WYNNE — The Yellowjack­ets (7-0, 4-0 5A-East) led 35-7 at halftime, then held off the Pioneers (4-3, 3-1) in the second half.

Wynne senior Marterius Dewaun Ross threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to senior Jacobie Williams and also had a rushing touchdown.

CLASS 4A BALD KNOB 35, HEBER SPRINGS 15

HEBER SPRINGS — Several Bulldogs (4-3, 2-2 4A-2) scored to help lead Bald Knob past the Panthers (1-6, 0-4).

Leason Pierce threw touchdown passes of 40, 25 and 20 yards to Josh Clark, Dane Lindsey and Michael Wingo, respective­ly.

Wingo also had a 5-yard touchdown run, and Clark also had a 3-yard rushing touchdown.

BAUXITE 23, FOUNTAIN LAKE 21

BAUXITE — Devin Jones’ 7-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter lifted the Miners (3-4, 2-2 4A-7) over Fountain Lake (2-3, 0-3).

In the third quarter, Bauxite quarterbac­k Hunter Ferrell connected with Braden Arnold on a pair of touchdown passes that left the game tied heading into the fourth.

A 27-yard field by Bauxite’s Garrett McCalliste­r gave the Miners a momentary lead in the fourth quarter before Fountain Lake’s Steven Dearmon scored on a 25-yard touchdown run that put the Cobras back in front.

Jones’ touchdown run gave the Miners the lead for good.

The score was tied 0-0 at halftime.

CAC 21, SS BATESVILLE 14

BATESVILLE — Palmer Gilbrech scored three touchdowns, including the game-winning score, to give Central Arkansas Christian (7-0, 4-0 4A-2) a come-from-behind victory over Southside Batesville (2-6, 1-3).

Gilbrech scored from 7 yards out with a minute left to give the Mustangs a 2114 lead. He finished 26-of-41 passing for 298 yards, and rushed for 47 yards and 3 touchdowns on 13 carries to lead CAC.

CAC trailed 14-0 in the second quarter, but Gilbrech’s 6-yard touchdown run before halftime cut the lead to 14-7.

Gilbrech tied the game at 14-14 with a 6-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Jackson Richmond led CAC’s receivers with 11 receptions for 145 yards. He also had 11 tackles, including nine unassisted on defense.

Ty Banks finished with a team-high 15 tackles for the Mustangs, while Cole Shoemaker added 10.

CAVE CITY 22, JONESBORO WESTSIDE 19

CAVE CITY — Senior Will Debaun threw a last-minute 20-yard touchdown pass to junior Eli Taylor to help the Cavemen (2-4, 1-2 4A-3) pull out a victory against the Warriors (2-5, 1-3).

Sophomore Bryce Walling ran for over 100 yards for the Cavemen, while teammates Maddox Moreland and Trevor Dockins led the team’s defense. DUMAS 35, STAR CITY 29

DUMAS — Kylin James broke into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown run with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter to lift Dumas (4-3, 2-2 4A-8) over Star City (2-3, 0-2).

The game-winning score was James’ second of the night after a 70-yard third-quarter touchdown run.

Dumas’ Johntarriu­s Washington also scored twice, with rushing touchdowns in the first and second quarters.

HAMBURG 47, HELENA-WEST HELENA 12

HELENA — Hamburg (3-3) improved to 2-0 in the 4A-8 Conference with a victory over Helena-West Helena (0-6, 0-4).

Brett Rice threw five touchdown passes, all to Nick McNeil.

The Lions led 20-0 at halftime.

LONOKE 29, MILLS 18

LONOKE — Senior Ja’coree Womack rushed for two touchdowns as the Jackrabbit­s (6-1, 4-0 4A-2) handled the Comets (2-5, 1-3)

Lonoke jumped out to a 21-0 lead before the Comets trimmed the deficit to 21-18. Womack then scored his second touchdown on an 11-yard run to put the game away.

Womack’s other touchdown came on a 45-yard run in the first quarter.

Senior Dalynn Waits blocked a punt for a score for Lonoke, and senior Anthony Parks added a 14-yard touchdown run.

MENA 23, OZARK 20

MENA — The Bearcats (4-3, 3-0 4A4) scored 10 unanswered fourth-quarter points to beat the Hillbillie­s (4-3, 2-1).

Junior Evan Graves returned a fumble 95 yards for Mena’s first touchdown in the first quarter.

Senior Jake Wiles ran 10 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter to tie the game at 13-13.

Senior Jet Hernandez kicked a 35-yard field goal to get Mena within 20-16 in the fourth quarter. Then, senior Cauy House ran in a 1-yard touchdown to give Mena a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.

PRAIRIE GROVE 55, HUNTSVILLE 14

PRAIRIE GROVE — The Tigers (61, 3-1 4A-1) scored four first-quarter touchdowns on their way to the home victory over the Eagles (3-4, 1-3).

Prairie Grove led 38-0 before Huntsville scored with 4:25 left in the first half.

Several players scored touchdowns for Prairie Grove with Cade Grant running for two and two different kickers — Cade Walker and Paytin Higgins — had field goals.

Colin Faulk ran 80 yards for a touchdown, while Ethan Miller went 44 yards for another score.

Caden Redfern returned a fumble 17 yards for a touchdown.

Also for the Tigers, Knox Laird threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Landon Semrad, and Foster Layman added a 1-yard scoring run.

POCAHONTAS 32, TRUMANN 14

POCAHONTAS — Connor Baker’s two rushing touchdowns helped Pocahontas (6-1, 3-1 4A-3) erase an early deficit and defeat Trumann (3-4, 1-3).

Pocahontas trailed after the first quarter before Baker’s first touchdown gave the Redskins the lead heading into halftime.

Baker scored again in the third quarter, while Dawson Chester’s touchdown pass to Michael Martens sealed the victory.

STUTTGART 35, CLINTON 7

CLINTON — The Ricebirds’ (6-0, 4-0 4A-2) defense held host Clinton (0-7, 0-4) to one score in the victory.

Stuttgart quarterbac­k Pate Kleinbeck tossed a touchdown to Jaidan Strange for the team’s first touchdown before firing three more to Arlie Lee in the second quarter.

Daniel Poole added a 50-yard rushing touchdown for the Ricebirds.

CLASS 3A CEDARVILLE 48, WEST FORK 41

CEDARVILLE — Daryl Kattich had 158 yards and 4 touchdowns as Cedarville (6-1, 1-1 3A-1) defeated West Fork (4-3, 2-2).

Cedarville scored on five of its six offensive series in the first half, with Kattich running for 133 yards and three scores in the first half.

A junior, Kattich has rushed for 1,414 yards and 20 touchdowns through seven games.

HOXIE 54, PIGGOTT 28

PIGGOTT — Seniors Daylon and Shunderric­k Powell dominated the Hoxie (6-0, 3-0 3A-3) offense, scoring all eight of the team’s touchdowns in a victory over Piggott (4-3, 2-2).

Daylon Powell, a quarterbac­k, rushed for touchdowns of 3, 62, 38 and 23 yards. He also rushed for two successful two-point conversion attempts, and threw for a third.

Shunderric­k Powell, a running back, rushed for touchdowns of 10, 80, 10 and 47 yards.

NEWPORT 51, SALEM 14

SALEM — Three Newport (8-0, 4-0 3A-2) players scored multiple touchdowns in the team’s easy victory over Salem (4-3, 1-2).

Senior Tharon Davis, sophomore Dejal Marshall and Jadarius Reed led the way for the Newport offense. Reed scored the game’s final touchdown on an intercepti­on return.

PARIS 42, ATKINS 6

ATKINS — Paris (7-0, 3-0 3A-4) scored six touchdowns before halftime in a rout at Atkins (5-2, 3-1).

Quarterbac­k Chase Watts got the offense going early, throwing touchdown passes to Blake Martinez and Cooper Haley in the first quarter. Duke Walker’s 38-yard rushing touchdown capped Paris’ strong opening quarter.

In the second quarter, Watts ran for a score and threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Haley before Ely Fore ran 20 yards for the Eagles’ final points before halftime.

Atkins had its lone score in the second half.

CLASS 2A BIGELOW 43, JOHNSON CO. WESTSIDE 14

COAL HILL — Keithlin Brown tossed for two scores and added another on the ground to lead the Panthers (7-0, 4-0 2A-4) to a lopsided victory over Johnson County Westside (2-5, 1-3).

Bigelow’s offense came out rolling in the first quarter, with rushing touchdowns by Brayden Jones and Bennett Johnson.

Jones scored on a 2-yard run in the second to put the Panthers up 28-6 before halftime.

In the second half, Brown led the offense to two scoring drives, throwing long touchdown passes to Johnson and running back Josiah Santiago.

MINERAL SPRINGS 42, LAFAYETTE COUNTY 16

STAMPS — Senior Terrell Fricks threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more to lead the Hornets (3-5, 2-1 2A-7) past the Cougars (0-6, 0-2).

Fricks threw two touchdown passes to senior Dontre Walton and his third to senior Keijuan Hicks.

Sophomore Vonderek Stewart had a rushing touchdown for the Hornets.

NONCONFERE­NCE RIVERCREST 55, OSCEOLA 27

WILSON — Colts senior Kam Turner threw five touchdown passes and rushed for two more scores in just three quarters in Rivercrest’s (7-0) victory over Osceola (2-3).

Four of Turner’s touchdown passes went to senior Keshawn Scott, including the game’s first, a 67-yard score.

The other touchdown pass went to junior Clay Burks.

Sophomore Jaden Stovall scored the Colts’ final touchdown on an 11-yard run.

For Osceola, junior Dontavian Littleton had two rushing touchdowns and threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Jabari Person.

8-MAN EPISCOPAL COLLEGIATE 52, WESTERN YELL COUNTY 6

The Wildcats (4-0) defeated the Wolverines (1-3) in Little Rock.

Quarterbac­k Stephen Munson threw 208 yards and rushed seven times for three touchdowns. Sophomore Jack Harbor had three receptions for 74 yards.

Joel Fleming had three touchdowns on the ground and another through the air. Fleming also had 14 tackles on defense.

Junior Wesley Wright had three receptions for 76 yards.
