POWER RANKINGS

-

1. Clemson (4-0, 3-0 ACC): The Tigers made short work of previously unbeaten Miami last week, thanks to an aggressive defense that recorded 11 tackles for loss.

2. Notre Dame (3-0, 2-0): Ran wild against Florida State, amassing 353 yards on the ground en route to posting a schoolrecord 21st consecutive home victory.

3. North Carolina (3-0, 3-0): The Tar Heels snapped a four-game losing streak against Virginia Tech last week to move to 3-0 for the first time since 2011.

4. Miami (3-1, 2-1): Miami took its lumps at top-ranked Clemson last week. Points should come more readily this week vs. Pitt.

5. N.C. State (3-1, 3-1): The Pack has posted back-to-back road victories. 6. Virginia Tech (2-1, 2-1): The Hokies’ depleted defense was nowhere to be found last week at North Carolina.

7. Boston College (3-1, 2-1): Quarterback Phil Jurkovec continues to shine for Boston College.

8. Pitt (3-2, 2-2): The hard-luck Panthers are coming off back-to-back one-point losses. Their reward? Back-to-back games against Miami and Notre Dame.

9. Virginia (1-2, 1-2): The Cavaliers fell behind N.C. State 24-0 last week, then lost starting QB Brennan Armstrong to a concussion en route to a 38-21 defeat.

10. Georgia Tech (2-2, 2-1): Freshman QB Jeff Sims is a star-in-the-making for Georgia Tech, which is now one victory shy of matching last season’s win total.

11. Wake Forest (1-2, 0-2): QB Sam Hartman has gained confidence in his durability, which might come in handy this week against Virginia’s defense.

12. Louisville (1-3, 0-3): The Cardinals, who were pegged for a fourth-place finish in the ACC preseason poll, continued their disappointing start with a loss at Georgia Tech.

13. Duke (1-4, 1-4): Duke broke into the win column last week at Syracuse, racking up 645 yards — the third-highest total of the David Cutcliffe era.

14. Florida State (1-3, 0-3): Could the Seminoles possibly slip to 0-4 in the ACC? If so, that would equal the number of conference losses Florida State had in its first 11 years in the league combined.

15. Syracuse (1-3, 1-3): The Orange should get back on track against Liberty.
