At his career peak, he had a combined print and radio audience of 50 million, until his alliance with Sen. Joseph McCarthy turned fans against him. Stanley Tucci, who won an Emmy in the title role of
HBO’s 1998 TV-movie “Winchell,” lends his voice to the film.
