“Movie: Pet Sematary”

Writer/director Václav Marhoul’s adaptation of Jerzy Kosiński’s 1965 novel follows the story of Joska (Petr Kotlár), a young Eastern European Jewish boy who encounters many different characters and witnesses or experiences many different cruelties from the ravages war and anti-Semitism during World War II. Nina Sunevic, Alla Sokolova and Stanislav Bilyi also star in this 2019 war drama.

“Darkness: Those Who Kill” (Oct. 19, Acorn TV)
From Denmark comes this crime drama about the disappearance of a Copenhagen teen and the detective who uses classic investigative techniques and psychological profiling in the hopes of solving the case and preventing other abductions. Kenneth M. Christensen and Natalie Madueno head the cast of this series that is in Danish with English subtitles.
