WHITE HALL — Nancy Black (Barnes) Jones,
81, of White Hall, Ark., died Friday October 16, 2020 in Jonesboro, Ark at ACCH Hospital. She was born October 9, 1939, in Russellville, Ark., to Norval and Ethel Maggard Barnes. She was reared in England, Ark., graduating from EHS before getting married and moving to Pine Bluff, Ark. She was a retired meat wrapper for Safeway and later becoming Brookshire’s.
She was a member of Christian Life Church, where she will be remembered as a faithful servant, director of the card ministry, and president of the ladies’ group. She was an avid bowler, Razorback fan and enjoyed cooking. She had also served as past president of the American Business Women’s Association, Opportunity Chapter, and member of the Cattlemen’s Association.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death, by her husband, Worley Jo Jones, and the father of her children, Carl Black; sisters, Betty Barnett, Thelma Morgan; brothers, Virgil Thompson, William Thompson; sister-in-law, Wanda Sue Gardner; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Jernigan.
Survivors include her sons, David Black (Shay), Doug Black, and Tracy Jones (Michelle); her daughters, Donna Weaver (Robert), Diana Black, Donna Kaye Jones (Julian), and Rhonda Jones; two sisters, Joanne Jernigan and Sheila Fleeman (Tim); her grandchildren, Ashley Weaver, Robbie Weaver (Lesley), Ryan Weaver (Savannah), Angela Black, Amber Black, Mary Walton, Blake Beard and Hunter Jones (Caroline); great-grandchildren, Gunner, Levi, and Wyatt Weaver; and all of her Church family members.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday October 19, 2020, at Fuller Hale South Funeral Services.
A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Christian Life Church with the Rev. Don Herring officiating. She will be laid to rest at Lee Cemetery under the direction of Fuller Hale South Funeral Services.
