He earned re-election

-

Just read Philip Martin’s opinion column in Sunday’s paper. Seems he just cannot get over the fact that Donald Trump was elected president of the United States in 2016 and will most likely be re-elected in 2020.

Martin has called Trump names and never let up on his opinion that the president was involved in the Russian election interference. Never read where Martin, nor columnist John Brummett, ever acknowledged the findings of the Mueller report clearing the president. Maybe I missed it.

In the recent column Martin said that the American people failed a basic test of decency by voting for Donald Trump in numbers sufficient to secure his election. Was he implying that President Trump voters are indecent? Hillary only called us a basket of deplorables. Both seem like pretty harsh statements to make about people that looked at both candidates and cast votes for a person with a vision to make America great.

I believe President Trump has kept his promises in so many ways, as indicated in the “Decisions, decisions” editorial in Sunday’s paper, with the writer saying that it was remarkable that he has kept so many of his campaign promises, especially compared to previous presidents. Go and read of promises kept by his administration. There is also a partial list of items proposed by the liberal radical left which can be devastating to our country.

As a Christian I wish to add other reasons for voting for the president. I believe he has given a voice to the church and the unborn, moved our embassy to Jerusalem, appointed conservative judges, made USA energy independent, supported school choice, brought peace to the Middle East, created tremendous numbers of jobs and new businesses, and made America prosperous. Trump 2020. GLYNNA CONDRAY
