GERALD FREDERICK KIRK,

75, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. “Jerry,” as many knew him, attended Catholic High for one year, before transferri­ng to and graduating from Central High School. Subsequent­ly, he attended Arkansas State Teachers College. He worked as a cameraman for KATV in Little Rock, before recognizin­g his calling in law enforcemen­t. Jerry spent many years as a Pulaski County Sheriff Deputy, where he retired with the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Kirk spent his retirement providing security for his residentia­l community. He was well known for his love of and care for “strays,” feline and human alike. Jerry was also an avid reader and a lover of movies. In his latter years, he reconnecte­d with his Catholic faith.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Reba McNutt Kirk; his father, Herbert M Kirk; his sister, Loretta Kirk Williams; his maternal grandparen­ts, Frank and Loretta Nugent McNutt; his paternal grandparen­ts, Frederick and Louise Rauch Kirk; and his best friend, Sheriff Carroll Gravett. He is survived by his sister, Wanda Kirk Vandiver (Mike); Bradley J Williams; Declan Kirk Williams; Holly Williams; Perry Williams, Jr; Troy Allen Kirk; and good friends, Claudia Gravett and Ali Zarabi, for whom Jerry and the family owe a special debt of gratitude for their love and care.

Arrangemen­ts were made with Pinecrest Funeral Home, and he will be interred in a mausoleum at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Per his wishes, there will not be a formal funeral. If you visited him, talked to him, and forgave him, your respect has already been paid.
