BATESVILLE — Deanna Joy (King) Sullivan,

of Batesville, formerly of White County, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 19, 2020, at age 83, at White River Medical Center, in Batesville, Ark. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her death. She was born June 12, 1937, in Hickory Flat, Ark., to Lem B. and Sarah “Lady”

(Yingling) King. She was raised in Providence. Upon her graduation from High School, she went to work for the Arkansas Soil Conservati­on Service. Her entreprene­urial spirit and strong work ethic led her to open a salon, Mayfair Coiffures, in downtown Searcy in 1972. It was successful for many years. Deanna retired and moved to Batesville, Ark., with her husband, Max Sullivan, in 1999. She became an active member of Batesville First Nazarene Church. Deanna was a stylish lady and devoted wife and mother, who loved spending time with her children, and grandchild­ren. She was a talented home cook and gardener, who enjoyed growing beautiful roses, tropical plants and vegetables. She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Scheidweil­er, and son-in-law, Fritz; her son, Todd Weber; grandchild­ren, Jordan Hegarty, and Victoria Reynolds; four great-grandchild­ren and a brother, Sid King. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max; and brother, Lynn Roe King.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 12, from 12-2 p.m., at the Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob, with services to begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery. Arrangemen­ts entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfune­ralhome.net
