Recent traffic crashes claim seven lives

A Bradford man died Thursday morning when the car he was driving crashed into a tree in White County, according an Arkansas State Police report.

Christophe­r Moya, 29, was driving north on U.S. 67 around 4:42 a.m. when the 2015 Dodge Challenger spun off the road, the report states. The left side of the car struck a tree and Moya was partially thrown out.

Conditions were rainy and the road was wet, the report states.

Two people were killed and three were injured when a pickup struck several people on the side of Interstate 40 in west Arkansas on Wednesday, according to a state police report.

The crash happened about 12:30 p.m. near Mulberry in Franklin County, according to the report. People in two vehicles had stopped to help after a Ford Focus on the westbound shoulder was involved in a crash, the report states.

left the interstate and struck the Ford, pushing it into the four people who had stopped to help.

William Burrow, 59, of Bald Knob and Jesse Lowrey, 39, of Copan, Okla., died as a result of the wreck, the report states.

Clint Jones, 39, of Dewey, Okla.; Clarissa Hobbs, 38, of Fort Eustis, Va., and the driver of the Ford, 56-yearold Wanda Sarver of Whitley City, Ky., were injured.

Conditions were rainy and cloudy at the time of the crash, the report states.

A Southaven, Miss., man was killed and a Forrest City man injured Wednesday night when the Mack truck they were riding in overturned near Gilmore in Crittenden County, a state police report said.

Passenger James Hunt Neeley, 61, died and Mitchell Green, 45, was injured when the northbound 2020 Mack truck left Interstate 555 around 8:18 p.m. and entered the median, according to the report. Green overcorrec­ted, the report states, which caused the truck to jacknife and overturn before ending up facing northeast.

Rain was falling and the road was wet.

One man died and two people were injured in a three-vehicle collision Tuesday night on the Interstate 30 bridge in Little Rock, a state police report states.

A 70-year-old bicyclist died Oct. 22 when two cars traveling east on N O Street in Fort Smith collided, sending one of of cars onto the curb where it struck and killed the bicyclist.

Khoanh Van Le of Fort Smith was riding his bicycle on the edge of the roadway in the 3100 block of N O Street when the collision occurred at 4:25 p.m., a report from the state police states.

Thanh Loan Thi Nguyen, 64, of Fort Smith was driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna east when she was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Camaro,

the report states. The impact of the collision sent Nguyen’s vehicle onto the curb where it struck Le, ending up on top of the cyclist, according to the report.

Le was transporte­d to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, where he died Tuesday night, the report states.

The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the collision.

A 40-year-old Paris woman was killed and a 37-yearold man was injured in a wreck involving a dog on Arkansas 96 in Sebastian County.

Jason Layne of Hartford was driving a 2019 Tao scooter east around 4:02 p.m. Oct. 16 when a dog ran into the roadway and the scooter hit it, according to a state police report.

Layne and passenger Ashley Fore were thrown from the scooter, killing Fore and injuring Layne.

Conditions were clear and the road was dry.

Records indicate that at least 500 people have died on Arkansas roads so far this year.
