Alumni association seeks directors
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff/Arkansas AM&N College National Alumni Association seeks board of director nominations, according to a news release.
Kimberly King, chair of the nominations committee, said completion of first terms and vacancies in national regions created opportunities for qualified alumni to serve on the board, according to a news release.
Individuals interested in becoming board members must be financially active at the local and national level for the two years prior to their election. Exemptions may be provided for individuals who reside in areas where there is no local alumni chapter within a 50-mile radius of their residence. Exemptions may be granted by the nominating committee and approved by the board of directors. Board of directors may serve two three-year terms. The following shows the regions where vacancies exist or board members whose first term ends Dec. 31:
GREAT LAKES/EASTERN SEABOARD REGION
(Florida, Michigan, Vermont, Maine, Georgia, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Ohio, South CarolinaVirginia, Rhode Island and New Jersey)
1. Dr. Giles Willis — Incumbent.
2. David Walters — Incumbent.
CENTRAL REGION
(North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Kansasa and Indiana)
1. One vacancy.
SOUTHWEST REGION
(Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee)
1. One vacancy.
FAR WEST REGION
(Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Hawaii, and Alaska)
