62, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020. He was born on May 13, 1958, to the late Hugh T. and Nettie J. Smith. Delwin was a 1976 graduate of Parkview High School. On his earthly journey, Delwin was employed at Teletype for 8 years before completing his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administra­tion in 1984 and Elementary Education in 1990, both from Baptist College, and additional graduate work at the University of Central Arkansas. During his educationa­l career, he served as a Special Education Paraprofes­sional at J. A. Fair High School and a 6th Grade Teacher at Baseline Elementary before becoming a Title 1 Specialist at Rightsell Academy. He moved into administra­tion by serving as an Assistant Principal at Mabelvale Elementary, Chicot Elementary, Washington Elementary, and finally at Wakefield Elementary, where he was employed until his death. Delwin was in his 33rd year of service to the Little Rock School District. Delwin was a faithful member of Grace Temple Church and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Delwin has left a void in the lives of his family and friends that will be difficult to fill. He leaves behind his mother, Nettie J.; a sister, Alicia; three brothers, Marlon, Darian (Denise) and William Smith; his nephew, Wynston Smith.

A walk-through visitation will be held from 12 pm – 6 pm at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home on Thursday, November 5th. Masks are required and social spacing is observed. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6th at Grace Temple Church located at 8000 East Port Drive, Little Rock, AR. The service will be livestream­ed.
