BENTON — Our mother, Mary “Muff” Agnes Glover,

-

was called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ and all her family and friends who awaited her arrival, Sunday, November 1, 2020. She was a remarkable, courageous and one ‘tough southern’ woman. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. Everybody that met her loved her. During the many stays at rehab facilities, hospitals, assisted living facilities and long-term care facilities over the past six years, the nurses always told us how sweet she was, and they loved caring for Mrs. Glover.

‘Muff’ was born on April 21, 1928, to Carl Thomas and Oleta Joy (Moran) Wingard. She attended Pine Bluff and Watson Chapel Schools. She met the love of her life James C. Glover, and they married on January 17, 1947, in Pine Bluff, Ark. They settled in the Watson Chapel community where they raised their three daughters. She was continually active in her community belonging to the Parent Teachers Association, Watson Chapel Garden Club, DAR, and the Pine Bluff Chamber of Commerce and a proud member of the ‘Red Hatters’. She was highly active in her Church in Pine Bluff, Watson Chapel Baptist. After the death of her husband in 2003, she moved to Hot Springs Village, where she was a member of Barcelona Baptist Church. She loved both of her Church families and participated in many Church activities. Muff and James established one of the first and largest Western Stores in Southeast Arkansas, The Rancher Western Store. They operated the store for approximately 30 years. She was loved by her many customers, and sales representatives from the many brands she carried. She was an exceptional cook and collected a variety of cookbooks over the years. She loved to travel with the many travel groups she was a member.
