JOHN VINCENT ROCA, Ph.D, 56,

-

died Saturday, November 7, surrounded by loved ones in his home. Born February 6, 1964, in New Orleans, to HJ and Carolyn (Chatham) Roca, Vince dedicated his entire career to our veterans as a clinical psychologist at the North Little Rock VA Hospital. He was a national leader in psychological services for PTSD and created the program in Central Arkansas. A cornerstone of Vince’s life was his Catholic faith. He received a Jesuit education from the University of Santa Clara, where he met the love of his life and wife of 33 years, Jeanette (Eitner) Roca. He was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock. He is survived by his wife and four children, John Roca Jr. (Ashley), Claire Cole (Parker), Gabrielle Roca, and Theresa Roca; one grandson, Malachi; his brothers, Henri Roca and Kevin Roca (Charlene); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his second mother, Lovey Roca. He was preceded in death by his parents and one child, Robert Logan Roca. Vince leaves behind a void not easily filled, but his legacy lives on in the many lives he has touched throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, mentor, and friend, as well as a beloved coach.
