78, of Des Arc, died November 7, 2020, at his home. Dennis was born January 2, 1942, in Des Arc, to John Rayford and Lucy (Eddins) DeVore. He grew up in the Oak Prairie community and was raised in the Oak Prairie Methodist Church, and later transferre­d to First United Methodist Church in Des Arc, in the 70’s. Dennis married Marinell Booth on October 14, 1961. They had their 59th wedding anniversar­y this year.

Dennis started farming in 1961, where he rented two small farms. Over the years he built up to owning farmland of his own with the help of his son and good hired help. Dennis and his family were 2002 Prairie County Farm Family of the Year. He was a board member of Farm Bureau and Riceland Foods, served on the Prairie County Fair Board for 25 years, and was a member of Central Arkansas Wagon Club, where he served four years as board president. He enjoyed farming, his horses, and trail riding with his wagon team. Dennis loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchild­ren and watching them at their ballgames and other activities.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Van DeVore. Survivors include his wife, Marinell, one son, Tim (Teresa) DeVore, one daughter, Yvette (Steve) Clark, four grandchild­ren, Mason Clark, Shelby Clark Ballard, Zac DeVore, Sarabeth DeVore, one sister, Idena Greenwalt, one brother, Gary DeVore.

Visitation is 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at First United Methodist Church, with funeral services immediatel­y following at 2. Burial will be in Hazen Cemetery, by Garth Funeral Home. Bro. Jonathan Bevil and Butch Calhoun officiatin­g. Pallbearer­s are, Mason Clark, Zac DeVore, Roger DeVore, Eric Greenwalt, Bert Greenwalt and Brock Ballard.
