SHERIDAN — Virgie Mae Bratton, of Sheridan, Ark.,

was born on December 9, 1930, in Star City, Ark., the daughter of the late Bryan and Vera Owen Winston. She went to her heavenly home on November 6, 2020. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She was a wonderful God fearing Christian woman, and example before her children. Her love for her Lord and her family was what she lived for. Virgie was an expert seamstress, she loved painting pictures, cooking, gardening and growing flowers. Until we meet again in heaven we will miss her more than words can say! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Bratton; granddaugh­ter, Kelly Dixon; brothers, Orbie, James and Mahlon Winston; and by her sisters, Maxine Sterrett, Geneva Scifres, and Mattie McGarrah.

She is survived by daughters, Brenda J. Gray (James Starr) of Dover, Ark., Ellen M. Grooms (Bobby) of Omak, Wash., Barbara A. Rice (Mark) of Benton, Ark., and Vicki R. Blackerby (Vance) of Grapevine, Ark.; one sister, Arlene Winston; 11 grandchild­ren; 21 great-grandchild­ren; seven great-great-grandchild­ren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearer­s will be Bryan Gray, Cody Blackerby, Chris Blackerby, Chancy McAdoo, Adam Ashley, and Jimmy Winston. Honorary Pallbearer­s are Danny McGarrah, Gerald Winston, Alan Bratton, Joe Lynn Waddle, Russell Waddle, Mike McGarrah, and Jerry Winston.
