Jefferson County Food & Safety Report
The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments that include restaurants, bars, day cares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.

The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted by the Jefferson County Health Unit:
BURGER QUEEN & CHICKEN LLC, 5535 Sulphur Springs Road. Date of opening inspection Nov. 17. No violations reported during time of inspection. Establishment okay to operate.
GO DUCKIN LLC, 10501 U.S. 63. Date of follow-up inspection Nov. 6. No violations reported. Comment: Pizza prep refrigerator is currently not being used to store food in.
MCDONALD’S, 8012 Sheridan Road, White Hall. Date of inspection Nov. 6. Liquid egg (44 degrees F) in prep cooler is out of safe temperature range. Time/ Temperature Control for Safety (TCS) Foods shall be kept cold at a temperature of 41.0°F or below, as measured by an internal probe thermometer, to limit bacterial growth. Some floors in establishment, especially under ice cream machine, soda dispensers in the back, and equipment, are unclean and need to be cleaned. Observed cardboard boxes being used to line the floor. Absorbent material should not be used to line the floor. Cardboard boxes were removed during inspection.
HARDEE’S, 2828 W. 28th Ave. Date of inspection Nov. 5. Prep cooler door is not sealing properly. Door should be repaired so that it seals completely. Observed trash cans containing food residue being stored uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be covered when not in continuous use. Ceiling vent near back door is unclean and needs to be cleaned. Floors in establishment, especially under equipment in kitchen, are unclean and need to be cleaned.
MCDONALD’S, 2819 Olive St. Date of follow-up inspection Nov. 5. Floors in kitchen under equipment are unclean and need to be cleaned. Clean the physical facilities as often as necessary to keep them clean. Observed damaged ceiling tiles throughout establishment. The physical facilities shall be maintained in good repair.
RALLY’S HAMBURGERS, 2301 W. 28th Ave. Date of inspection Nov. 2. Observed an employee touching ready to eat tomatoes with bare hands when slicing. No bare hand contact with exposed, ready-to-eat food or ice. Use gloves, spatulas, tongs, deli tissue or other dispensing equipment. Employee placed gloves on to slice the tomatoes during inspection. Time on food in cold holding out of temperature range is not being kept correctly. Time was correctly labeled during inspection.
TACO BELL, 2712 Olive St. Date of inspection Nov. 2. No soap provided at front hand-washing sink. Provide an adequate supply of hand cleanser (liquid, powder, or bar) at each hand-washing sink. Soap was placed at hand-washing sink during inspection. Observed trash cans containing food residue being stored uncovered while not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be covered when not in continuous use.
