CHARLES CLIFFORD (“CLIFF”) WRIGHT,

92, of Jacksonville died peacefully on November 18, 2020, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark. He was born December 8, 1927, in Judsonia to parents William A. and Rosa Wright (Bridgeman) and grew up surrounded by siblings. He was married to Peggy Wright of Jacksonville for more than 69 years, and together they raised three sons. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his son, Gary Wright; great grandson, Thomas Naramore; brothers Jarold, Lloyd, Floyd, Otis, AW, and James Wright; as well as sisters Lavona Wright, Norma Grady, and Levina Brantly.

Cliff served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1947 as a Seaman Second Class and then served in the United States Air Force for 28 years as an Explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD) technician. He took great pride in his job and was involved in numerous special projects in Morocco, Southeast Asia, Philippines, and Greenland. He served tours of duty in Vietnam and Thailand, and was stationed with his family in nine different states before retiring in Jacksonville, Ark., as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1977. Over his military career, he received nine military commendations, including the Bronze Star.

After his retirement from the Air Force, Cliff worked 17 years at Regal Ware, Inc., in Jacksonville as a Safety and Security Specialist. As always, he took great pride in his work and was widely respected by co-workers.

He is survived by two sons and their wives, Chuck and Jan Wright of Hot Springs and Larry and Renee Wright of Little Rock; daughter-in-law Cheryl Wright; as well as 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was loved by his family and he was most proud of his sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was entombed at the Chapel Oaks Mausoleum in Jacksonville, Ark., on Monday, November 23, under arrangements by Moore’s Funeral Home in Jacksonville www.mooresjacksonvillefuneralhome.com. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will not be a memorial service at this time. The family asks that donations be made to the charity or educational institution of your choice. The family would also like to express their gratitude to the staff of CHI St. Vincent Hospital for their skilled and compassionate care.
