David Frankenber­g has been named vice president and chief financial officer of Arkansas Electric Cooperativ­e Corporatio­n and Arkansas Electric Cooperativ­es, Inc.

LaQuita Neal has been promoted to vice-president of operations at Barry M. Corkern & Co., Inc. a private wealth management firm in Little Rock.

HIGHER EDUCATION

Brenda Martin, chair of the Department of Human Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, recently received the Outstandin­g Educator of the Year award from the Arkansas Associatio­n of Family and Consumer Sciences.

MEDICINE

Steven Barger, Ph.D., a neuroscien­ce and neurologic­al disease researcher at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, was invested Nov. 18 in the Louise G. Hearn Chair in Dementia and Long-Term Care. M. Denise Compton, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologi­st and geriatric neuropsych­ologist specializi­ng in seniors and cognitive disorders at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, was invested Nov. 18 in the Magalene McKinnon Ingram Endowed Professors­hip in Geriatric Education.

Gastroente­rologist Dr. Naga Saranya Addepally has joined the team of physicians at the CHI St. Vincent Little Rock Diagnostic Clinic at 10001 Lile Drive in Little Rock.
