DAN FRANK ONSTOTT SR.,

91, of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020. He was born in Granite, Oklahoma on Wednesday, December 4, 1929 to Dan Wendell and Helen Christy Onstott.

He married Harriet Wright, the love of his life, on December 3, 1948.

Dan served the Little Rock area for 47 years, working with Little Rock Municipal Water Works from 1948 to 1995. He was Superinten­dent of Distributi­on from December 1972 until his retirement.

Dan graduated from Little Rock Technical High School. He joined the Arkansas Air National Guard working as a jet engine specialist, serving with the 154th Fighter Bomber Squadron in the Korean War.

Dan loved sports and played basketball into his adult years. He coached many baseball and softball teams in Central Arkansas. As a coach he led the Kirkland Gulf senior girls’ softball team to win the ASA Senior Girls State Championsh­ip in 1971. He was an avid Little Rock Trojan fan. Dan and Harriet loved to travel and see the world.

He was a member of Primrose United Methodist Church where he served in many different leadership roles throughout the years. He loved singing in the church choir. Dan was a member of the Southwest Singers and traveled the state singing in this group with Harriet and friends.

He was a 32-degree Mason with the Scottish Rite of Little Rock and a member of the Iron Springs Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Woodman of the World.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Opie Hudson, sister, Dorothy Caldwell and brother, Gerald Onstott.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Harriett Wright Onstott, children; Dan Onstott Jr. (Cynthia) of Cabot, Edgar Onstott (Bonnie) of El Dorado, and Ann Onstott (John) of Little Rock, grandchild­ren; Nicole Upshaw (Zach), Sarah Onstott, Brittany Beshears (Tim), Brandon Vining (Holly), Allison Farmer, Brad Farmer, great-grandchild­ren; Leanna Upshaw, Hayden Beshears, Autumn Beshears.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Spring Creek Nursing and Rehab of Cabot, Ark., for the outstandin­g care and love they have provided to Dan and Harriet over the last four years.

The family will have a private service now and when it’s safe to gather they will have a memorial service to honor Dan at that time. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Primrose Cemetery fund at 3006 West Dixon Road, Little Rock, Ark., 72206.
